Managed DSLS enrollment steps
Question:
How do I set up my Managed DSLS properly? Is there anything I need to do in a particular order?
Answer:
Managed DSLS is a free service offered for customers with active maintenance contract.
Note that the Managed DSLS setup involves 2 crucial steps:
1. Managed DSLS local set up on the customer side
2. License feature granting on DS side
Step 1:
General enrollment process on the customer side is shown in the email sent to the point of contact on the customer side. Note that in this email you will also see a text file i.e. ATT00001.txt and a .LIC authentification file with a name similar to this ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST-UVWXY_000_1.LIC . The email should look like the following:
Dear John Doe,
Your Managed Licensing Service from Dassault Systèmes (LKO1234567) is now ready
to use. The following steps should be performed by a network administrator. If
you are not such a person, please forward this email.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Configure your network (firewalls) to allow https access on port 443 to the
following 3 urls:
r1234567890123-us1-licensing.3dexperience.3ds.com
r1234567890123-us1-licensing-1.3dexperience.3ds.com
r1234567890123-us1-licensing-2.3dexperience.3ds.com
GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR 3DEXPERIENCE PLATFORM
1. Access
Attached to this email you can find your Company authentication file:
ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST-UVWXY_000_1.LIC
Detach this file and copy it to every computer on which a Dassault Systemes application will run. On Windows computers, it has to be stored in C:\ProgramData\DassaultSystemes\Licenses folder. On UNIX computers, it has to be stored in /var/DassaultSystemes/Licenses directory.
2. Managed Licensing Service Access
On the same computers, a file referencing the Managed Licensing Service has to be present in the same location as your Company authentication file.
Its filename is: DSLicSrv.txt
Its content is only 1 line:
r1234567890123-us1-licensing.3dexperience.3ds.com:443,r1234567890123-us1-licensing-1.3dexperience.3ds.com:443,r1234567890123-us1-licensing-2.3dexperience.3ds.com:443
Create this file with your favorite text editor.
3. Advanced Administration Tasks
Some optional license administration tasks, such as setting authorization rules, can be done by entering the following url in your favorite browser:
r1234567890123-us1-licensing-3.3dexperience.3ds.com
4. Managed Licensing Service Update
Your Managed Licensing Service from Dassault Systèmes has been updated upon your request #LKO4427093 for the Dassault Systèmes software described below.
There is 1 key included in ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST-UVWXY_000_1.LIC

You can be informed of the future Managed Licensing Service upgrades by subscribing to an RSS feed provided by Dassault Systemes.

After completing step 1, your Managed DSLS is set up properly on the customer side.
NOTE: there are NO license feature on the Managed DSLS license at this point.
If you try to use your purchased software, you will likely be greeted with a message like the one shown below.
To access your license properly. You have to wait for another email in step 2.
Step 2.
Depending on the processing speed of the order, the license feature will be added to the Managed DSLS license a few hours to couple days after the above email. When you receive the email with contents similar to the following, your Managed DSLS is fully operational.
