SolidWorks 3DEXPERIENCE/Platform keeps crashing
The last update of SOLIDWORKS 2026x HotFix 1.7 has an error in one
of its libraries (DLLs). Investigating on multiple 3Experience Forums we were able to
identify the exactly cause.
Please run the following process to fix temporary this issue and
get access to your SOLIDWORKS.
Open your File Explorer
Browse and go to the
next Folder C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKS
3DEXPERIENCE R2026x\win_b64\code\bin\SWXDesktopAddins
Rename the SWK3DCompassAddin.dll file
as SWK3DCompassAddin.dll.bak (See the image bellow)

This library is used for SOLIDWORKS to verify your 3DExperienceID
and password, it is causing crashes for now, just rename it. This is a current
issue on the SOLIDWORKS 2026x HotFix 1.7.
The Research and Development SOLIDWORKS TEAM already is working on
fixing this issue, they will be correcting this problem shortly.
Please let us know if the Issue persists after renaming this
file.
